SOMERLEYTON WI: Vice President Linda Sprosen welcomed members along with 3 visitors to the first meeting of 2016.

The programmes covering the upcoming events for the year were distributed and it promises to be an interesting year including celebrating The Queens 90th birthday in April and Somerleyton hosting The group meeting in October.

Several members went along to The Rose Theatre in December and enjoyed the Christmas entertainment.

£135 had been raised by members in lieu of Christmas Cards with the proceeds being shared between Dial A Ride and The Air Ambulance.

Sue Jennings lead the discussions for choosing the resolutions for shortlisting for The AGM which is to be held in Brighton in June. The final choices will be debated by members at The Resolutions meeting in May ready for the AGM.

Members then enjoyed several brisk and competitive games of Beetle with The winners prize going to Val Gough and the booby prize to Jane Inns.

Members enjoyed the Annual Meal at La Brasserie on January 19.

Birthday Flowers were presented to Mary Funkie for her Special Birthday Celebrations.

The February meeting sees members travelling back to The Swinging 60's when Ray Sturdy will be the speaker.

New Members are always welcome and we can be found on the second Tuesday of the month at St Cecilia's Church Hoo Road.
