ROTARY CLUB OF KIDDERMINSTER: The club welcomed Malcolm Lamb who entertained members at a recent lunch with snippets of the history of Morgan Cars, in particular his catchphrase "Morgan Cars have never had a wooden chassis". Thus clarifying a well-known

misconception.

Having learned engineering at school the founder H F S Morgan was renowned for developing simple solutions to engineering problems and soon built his first car – a three wheeler. It was registered as a tricycle and attracted much less tax than a four-wheel car. This gave way to the more comfortable four-wheeler in the 1930’s to compete with the Austin 7 and other similar cars. One can now hire a Morgan for a week or just for a day.
