A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her car crashed into a stationary vehicle in Kinver on Friday evening.

The driver had sustained a leg injury in the collision, on Enville Road at 6.41pm.

Inspector Geoff Knight, of South Staffordshire Local Policing Team, said the woman managed to walk a few feet to a nearby house before falling unconscious.

She was taken to Russells Hall Hospital by paramedics.

Addressing concerns voiced by local residents, that motorists often ignored the speed limit on that road, Inspector Knight said: “This is an ongoing investigation though there is no independent evidence to suggest that speed was an aggravating factor at this stage.

“Over the last few weeks we have had our mobile speed camera vans and road crime team in the area as a result of local community concerns.

"We will continue to monitor this area accordingly and will task further attention from these resources so that we can build a clear picture of whether speeding is a clear issue or whether it is a matter of perception.”

Anyone who witnessed this incident is urged to contact PC Wayne Green at South Staffs Police on the non-emergency number 101.
