CHRISTMAS came early for village charities, organisations and good causes when grants totalling £10,000 were given out from proceeds of this year’s Kinver Country Fayre.
The 2013 event, held in June, proved so successful that organisers have been able to donate the record amount to deserving causes across Kinver.
Twenty-six village organisations have benefitted from the handouts which will help to buy tents for scouts and guides groups and learning equipment for school.
The money will also help to improve village sports facilities, support drama, environmental and healthy activities - and provide Christmas lunch for senior citizens.
Kinver Country Fayre treasurer Paul Wooddisse said: “It has made all the hard work in organising the event worthwhile.
“Of course we want everyone who attends to have a great day out, but our primary objective as a registered charity is to raise money for the community.”
