A KINVER church hall is now fit for purpose after a £10,800 revamp.

The windows and fire door of St Peter's church hall, Vicarage Drive, were recently replaced after they had fallen into disrepair.

Members of the church hall committee had saved the majority of the funds required but an additional boost came in the sum of £1,000 from the Staffordshire Local Community Fund, on the recommendation of cllr Brian Edwards.

The Ken Wrigley Trust had also donated some funds and more money came in from the proceeds from a vintage tea party, organised by Ann Becke.

Rev Karen Stanton said: “It looks fantastic and the light levels in there are so much better, it has really lifted it. The church hall is massively used by people in the village.”

Local firm, Grove Installations were employed to carry out the work and the Sarah Smith, the church’s publicity officer, said that church members were “very satisfied with the result”.

She added: “It is excellent to find that many different members of the community are working together for the common good. We are most grateful for this support and we are confident that all users of the hall will appreciate this improvement.”
