THE festive season got underway in Kinver last Friday (November 29) when the village's MP teamed up with Santa Claus to switch on the Christmas lights.
South Staffordshire MP Gavin Williamson joined forces with Kinver Rotary Club's Santa to bring cheer to the High Street where the village's Christmas tree lights were switched on.
Highlights at the event, organised by the Kinver Country Fayre committee, included Kinver Rotary Club's sleigh, live music by the Kinfayre Singers, a specialist food market and seasonal competitions.
Mr Williamson said: “It is a huge honour to have been asked to turn on the Christmas lights in Kinver again, this year. You can always tell Christmas has started when the lights are turned on in Kinver and the seasonal festivities have commenced."
