September has started with a bang, in the world of Kinver Village WI.

Our monthly meeting found Anthony Collis, telling us all about swinging ladies, Inn Signs, coals to Newcastle in our case. What we didn’t know about pubs we certainly knew about the ladies in question.

The 14th saw us visiting the Château Impney Droitwich, to collect a celebration baton that is currently touring the country on it’s way to the AGM in The Albert Hall to mark 100 hundred years of the WI.

We enjoyed an afternoon tea and wonderful company, yours truly bought back the baton, to protect over night, then travelled in style in a vintage Riley, of this village, thank you Mr Bills, to present it to the ladies of Hagley group at Dunsley Hall.

The dress code for the day was “hats and pearls”, our ladies rose beautifully to the occasion, glamorous and elegant, doing guess what, eating cake.

It was then collected by Bromsgrove group in the company of their town crier, to go on it’s merry way.

To see us in our finery visit us at www.kinvervillagewi.co.uk The next meeting on October 13, will see Ann Becke , bringing us her talk on Chernobyl Children.

You are very welcome to join us, 7.30pm at the Senior Citizen’s Hall Kinver.
