THE Kinver Constitutional Club has been named as the area’s CAMRA Club of the Year for the ninth year running.

The 2015 award will be the ninth time in succession the club has won the prestigious Dudley and South Staffs Campaign For Real Ale title, topped only by their achievement in attaining the CAMRA National Club of the Year in 2011.

Vikki Bills, staff member at the club, said: “We are very proud to have won the award for the ninth year in a row and we will never tire of receiving it. We see it as a challenge to constantly improve to make sure we win it again next year.

“It’s nice to be recognised for doing our job. I’m one of the lucky ones who actually really enjoys coming into work.

“The club has a good team of staff and we always have 18 real ales available at any given time, so I think people enjoy the variety and choice which keeps them coming back.”

The club were handed the award at a special presentation event at the High Street venue last Saturday (June 6).

Stan Stephens, from Dudley and South Staffs CAMRA, said: “The building has become a thriving community hub for the village with a very high local membership.

“Furthermore, the establishment has built up and maintained the standards of atmosphere, welcome, service and good value that are requirements, apart from superior beer quality, for achieving this award.

“At least eight, and sometimes more, real ales from local brewers such as Kinver and Enville, supplemented by others from further afield, are served in prime condition at very reasonable prices.”
