CARING Kinver Rotarians have been pulling out all the stops during the past three months after raising more than £16,000 for local charities.

Their 2015 fundraising efforts came to a conclusion in December when they collected £6,400 through their Santa Sleigh, which covered the entire Kinver parish and further afield during the festive period.

The £16,000 total was boosted thanks to a record amount of money being raised through their Harvest auction, which reeled in £2,100.

There was another record breaking total obtained through the new-look ‘Two Villages’ run, which this year started and finished in the grounds of Enville Hall.

Thanks to a huge turn-out of more than 250 runners, and generous sponsorship from BodyKrat of Pensnett, proceeds from the run totalled £4,500 which was donated to Dudley based charity Action Heart.

They also raised close to £3,000 thanks to their annual Children in Need quiz hosted by 'Voice of the Balls' Alan Dedicote.

Other notable contributions from Rotarians Clive Corbett and Julia Roseblade helped swell the total still further.

Kinver Rotary spokesman Mike Deathridge said: “The Santa Sleigh tends to bring in the same amount each year, but the charity auction and Two Villages run have really taken off and we'll be hoping to build on those totals next year.”
