Kinver WI

Kinver ladies have been having a bit of a growth spurt over the winter months, lots of new members. You just can’t keep a good group down, it’s been a great pleasure to welcome lots of new friends. During our Christmas social meeting we drew two rather special gifts, a bursary for WI. Denman College, and free membership for one member, in the name of Margaret Bundred, a founding member who lived to the ripe old age of 102, an example to us all, a WI member up ‘till the last, or as she referred to us Wild Indians.

It’s been hats off in November and December, as we all wore our own creations, to see us very much at large visit kinvervillagewi.co.uk. January found us enjoying Southern Experience, a talk with slide show bought to us by Ron Gallivan, a fascinating insight into the Louisiana Purchase, and the events that followed, the history of Creole and Cajun people, just what was needed on a dark January night. Coming in February Dr Kate Round, with a talk on the roll of women in the glass industry. On February 10 there is a post Christmas meal.

The February 8 meeting, is at the Senior Citizen’s Hall Kinver at 7.30pm. Visitors are always welcome.
