SPECIAL Constables operating in South Staffordshire are set to be supplied with new mobile technology which will enable them to spend more time out and about in their communities.

Frontline officers have already been equipped with new smartphone and tablet devices which will supply them with information at their fingertips.

That service will now also be extended to Special Constables covering South Staffordshire, which includes Kinver and Stourton, and it is hoped the technology will be in place by the end of this summer.

The technology will make the Special Constables more visible to local people and stop them having to return to their stations to complete paperwork, submit reports, statements and access files.
