FOOTBALLERS in Kinver can get themselves prepared for the new season in style as the village has scored a £1,800 grant for new equipment.
Kinver Sports and Community Association (KSCA) said they were over the moon after being handed the money by local councillor Brian Edwards to make the much needed purchases.
The grant will enable new goal posts, a line marker, and corner flags to be installed on the village’s Marsh Playing Fields in Legion Drive.
Rachel Davis, chairman of KSCA, said: “We are very grateful to county, district and parish councillor Brian Edwards who provided £1,000 from his members’ budget, as well South Staffordshire District Council which funded the remainder of the cost.
“The new equipment allows both pitches to be used simultaneously, which means more teams can make use of Kinver’s great football facility.”
