A WOMAN was left shaken after being knocked to the floor and mugged in Kinver last night (Sunday July 31).

The incident happened as the woman, aged 33, was walking down Meddins Lane towards Potters Cross at around 6.45pm.

Police say the victim felt an object in the back of her neck and was pushed to the ground by a male offender who had approached her from behind.

The man, who spoke with a local accent, threatened the woman and demanded her wallet - telling her he had a knife and not to look at him.

After taking cash from the wallet, the offender threw it on the ground and made off.

Police say he ‘shuffled’ as he walked off up Meddins Lane towards Kinver Edge - and at no point did the victim see the man or whether or not he had a weapon.

The woman banged her chin during the incident but did not require medical treatment.
