President Val Evans said she hoped members would all enjoy this year’s varied programme. Votes were taken on the choice of resolutions for this year’s AGM.

Ideas for outings later in the year would be welcomed. The institute will host the spring group meeting at Mamble Village Hall on March 18. The spring rummage sale will be held at Mamble Village Hall on Saturday, May 6. A talk with slides was given by Melvin Thompson of Kidderminster Carpet Museum about hand-knotted Eastern carpets. He explained the design differences between countries such as Turkestan and India.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 8, at Mamble Village Hall starting at 7.30 pm. The History of Bowketts of Tenbury is the talk by Roger Bowkett. The competition will be a photograph of mother. There will be a trading stall.
