WALKERS will be putting their best feet forward as they take part in an annual cross-country event to raise essential funds for Lye’s Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Participants will don their walking boots for the popular ‘Pound the Bounds’ event in Rock, in Wyre Forest, in aid of the charity which this year is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Registration for the walk, which takes place on Sunday, May 1, is now open and includes a variety of distances depending on ability.

Henk Buzink, committee organiser, said: “Our event has been running for 16 years and we are very proud to support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

“We look forward to this year’s walks celebrating the service’s 25th anniversary. There are routes to suit all abilities, and we have introduced a new half marathon route to accommodate advanced walkers and runners.”

Offering spectacular views of the Worcestershire countryside, walkers can join the 26, 18, 13, nine or six mile walks, while young families are invited to take part in a three mile treasure trail.

Michelle McCracken, regional fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Rock Pound the Bounds is an important date in the charity’s fundraising calendar for Air25, our 25th anniversary year.

“This event is a great opportunity for the charity’s supporters to raise vital funds, any funds raised from £25 to £2500, contributes towards a lifesaving Midlands Air Ambulance mission.”
