A WYRE FOREST business group is celebrating after coining in £1.1 million worth of trade for its members in a year.

BNI Wyre Forest's 35 members, who meet every week at Stourport Manor Hotel, have benefited to the tune of £42,250 worth of business each, says the group.

The extra business comes from referrals for possible customers that they have made to each other through the professional networking group.

Rosanne Howes, of Stourport-based Logs West Midlands and BNI Wyre Forest chapter director, said: “Working together we have generated over £1 million pounds worth of trade in the last 12-months, which is a phenomenal achievement and equates to an additional £42,250 worth of business referrals each for every BNI Wyre Forest member."

Teri (correct) Baron, managing director of Stourport-based Rotary Printers, said: “As a founder member, and as part of the leadership team along with Rosanne and Gill Woolridge of The HR Dept, it’s fantastic to be part of the growth of BNI Wyre Forest, which has generated and delivered such a terrific amount of business within the local economy.

“BNI Wyre Forest is now ranked amongst the top 10 most successful BNI groups nationally, which is quite an accolade considering there’s now a BNI network practically in every town across the country.”

Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier, gave a brief summary of the economic situation and public finances during a recent visit to the group.

He talked about how the work of the government was geared towards helping small, medium and "micro-sized" businesses to perform well, creating more jobs.

Mr Garnier said: “It is a true testament to the rising success of businesses in Wyre Forest that BNI has seen a significant increase in membership over the past year.

"This is a group of local businesses that are in good shape and good heart and for me this sets a benchmark to aim for all businesses.”
