CHILDREN who are visiting Stourport War Memorial park can now get into the swing of things after vandalised equipment was replaced.

Stourport Carnival Society has provided £500 from its carnival funds to install new swings after the previous set were stolen from the park.

Each year the funds from Stourport Carnival are donated to various groups and organisations within the town.

Last year saw more than £5,000 donated to the scanner appeal, local scouts and guides groups, and York Street doctors.

Pete Roberts, society chairman, said the group has tallied up the money raised at this year’s carnival and is now urging organisations to apply for a share of the funds. The closing date to apply has been extended until the end of November, and can be done by contacting Pete Roberts on 01299 879340.
