Demonstrator Yvonne Berry brought along some fantastic mechanics to compliment the beautiful flowers and foliage she used at the club on Monday, February 23. Her title was “Tool of the trade” and she began with a trug that she filled with spring flowers that included tulips, daffodil, gerbera and foliage.

Next was a wheel barrow filled to overflowing with eucalyptus fatsia red tulips and lilies.

A basket contained carnations and lilies with her beautifully conditioned foliage and two arrangements were set into an antique chair and held pink roses red carnations and yellow gerbera.

Purple iris, yellow carnation and freesias surrounded a very realistic knife grinder and her final arrangements were in a tall column with rubus roses lilies and gerbera. Chairman Di Crump thanked Yvonne and Lyn McCoy gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the audience and congratulated her on a lovely and colourful display.

The next meeting held at the Elizabeth Mills Social Centre is on March 20 with demonstrator Jackie Charnock and “A melody of contrasts” Members competition is “Easter interpreted” Visitors are very welcome, there are refreshments and a raffle and the charity collection this year is for Air Ambulance.
