President Margaret Mills opened the meeting with news of the death of Sylvia Roberts’s husband Ken and the sudden death of member Joan Struebig. Eve Owen reported on the shopping trip to Cardiff and Muriel Owen reported on the carol service. Stone will be hosting the spring group meeting on Thursday, April 22. Sylvia Roberts reported on the skittles.

Members were saddened to hear of the death of Vera Maughan aged 98. President Margaret Mills reported that the Annual Council Meeting in March 2010 will be incorporating the craft rally. The autumn area meeting is at Abberley on Tuesday and the group meeting is at Habberley.

Members were reminded of the autumn group meeting hosted by Somerleyton at Hartlebury Village Hall on October 22 at 7.30pm. The annual birthday dinner is at La Brasserie on October 14, meet at 7pm for 7.30pm. Treasurer Eileen Whitfield gave details of finances.

Stan Gould, clerk to the parish council, has retired after 25 years. He is to be replaced by Sue Bamford who is a qualified clerk also employed by Upper Arley Parish Council. Bill Waldron, who also works for Chaddesley Corbett Parish Council, was appointed as the new lengthsman.

This is the first annual report by the parish council. It is designed to let parishioners know how the money is spent which is collected through Council Tax, and then goes towards the parish council’s work. COUNCIL ADMINISTRATION The Council held 4 Council Meetings and 4 Planning Meetings during the year.

At the resolutions meeting David Mills spoke on ‘SOS for honey bees’. David has been keeping bees for 40 years and gave lots of helpful information on the workings of bees within the hive. The vote on the resolution was carried unanimously.

Two outings are being arranged for the summer, and a walk to include lunch, was proposed. Muriel Owen will be organising the display for the craft show and the birthday dinner in October. The skittles team had won their last match.
