RESIDENTS in Stourport have been invited to a coffee and cake morning to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Churchill Retirement Living is holding the event at its Mitton Lodge development as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign on Thursday, September 11.

Visitors to the event, which takes place between 10am and noon, will be treated to refreshments in the Owner’s Lounge, and for every person in attendance, Churchill Retirement Living will donate £5 to the charity.

Spencer McCarthy, chairman and group managing director, said: “We are delighted to be once again involved in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

“The events are not only a fantastic way to raise money for a very worthy cause but also an opportunity to get the local community together.

“We hope people in Stourport will join us at Mitton Lodge and show their support to help us raise even more for Macmillan this year.”

The retirement developer has already raised more than £200,000 for Macmillan since 2009 and this is the sixth year the company has taken part in the coffee morning campaign.

The money raised by the organisation last year from all the coffee mornings at its nationwide developments totalled £20,838.

Mitton Lodge, in Vale Road, is a collection of one and two bedroom privately-owned retirement apartments.
