HUNDREDS of Stourport residents laced the streets of the town at the weekend for the Remembrance Sunday parade.
However, one former resident was a hundred miles away on parade at the Cenotaph Remembrance Ceremony in London.
Barry Colley, a former student of Stourport High School and Sixth Form Centre, joined the 16/5th Queens Own Lancers in 1986 and saw action in the Gulf War, Northern Ireland and Bosnia.
He served with the Scarlet Lancers until 1994 and is now a senior prison officer in North Essex with his wife, Liz, and children.
Mr Colley said: βIt was a very proud and emotional day to be on parade at the Cenotaph with over 140 former Scarlet Lancers.β
