AS part of our Stourport News Extra paper, we take a step back in time to look at the town throughout the ages.

This month we saw how business and buildings of the area have changed over time.

The feature showed pictures spanning back to as early as 1936, where residents were unaware that just three years later would mark the start of the Second World War.

Readers also saw pictures of landmark buildings of the town from the 1950s to 1990s.

The various pictures include historic pictures of the Brinton Arms, Stourport High School, Martins Bank and Haven Cinema.

The pictures were provided by Lisa Cooper, as well as users of her facebook page We Love Stourport-on-Severn: Past and Present Day.

The facebook page was launched by Mrs Cooper in 2010 after she sat at her computer and read an item that was negative about the town.

She immediately set up her popular page dedicated to the positive things about Stourport.

It has continued to grow and now has more 5,000 likes. The page is updated regularly with old photos of Stourport and other items, including regular links to Shuttle stories for group members to view and discuss.
