VISITORS to Stourport during the Christmas lights switch on are being advised that certain roads around the town will be closed for a short period.

Accompanying the town’s Christmas illuminations on Friday, November 21, will be the Three Kings Parade which will be taking place on town centre streets between 6pm and 6.30pm.

During this time, the roads involved in the event will not be accessible by vehicles.

Raven Street, Bridge Street, High Street, Mitton Street, Lion Hill, York Street, New Street and Martins Way will be temporarily closed.

However, visitors will be able to benefit from free evening parking during the festive period once again.

From Saturday, November 15, until Sunday, January 11, Wyre Forest District Council is making parking on its car parks free after 4pm.

These include Severn Meadows car parks, Riverside Meadows car park, Stourport Sports Centre car parks and Vale Road car park.

Rave Street car park is also free during this period, but is being used to house a children’s fun fair on November 21.
