A STOURPORT school has been bringing its pupils and parents together to discover activities that can support learning at home.

The Inspire Workshop for reception aged children at St Wulstan’s Catholic Primary School invited parents into the school for the afternoon where they took part in a range of activities that can be easily adapted to aid home learning.

Letter writing in shaving foam and using ipads to play phonic games were just a few of the literacy and language activities demonstrated to parents.

Kim Savage, deputy headteacher, said: “The children really enjoyed having their parents taking part in the activities and the parents also enjoyed their time in class.

“The afternoon was a great success and we have many positive comments from the parents.”

One of the parents said: “We as parents feel very well informed and have enjoyed the workshop and all of the activities.”

The school hopes to hold an Inspire Workshop with a maths focus in the new year.
