CHILDREN from a Stourport primary school have been supporting the areas Operation Christmas Child campaign by filling empty shoeboxes with presents.
Pupils at Burlish Park Primary School filled 30 boxes with gifts including hats, gloves, stationery, and cuddly toys to be sent to underprivileged children across the world.
Lynda Williams, eco schools co-ordinator, said: “We are so proud of our children and their families for supporting Operation Christmas Child every year and making the effort to bring Christmas cheer to children less fortunate than themselves.”
Since becoming a primary school in September 2007, Burlish Park has donated more than 450 shoeboxes which have been sent from the campaigns Kidderminster warehouse to Crimea and Belarus.
The appeal, which is organised by the charity Samaritan’s Purse, is now in its 24th year and since launching in 1990, more than 81 million shoeboxes have been sent to children in great need around the world.
