RESIDENTS of Wyre Forest can live out one of the not so naughty scenes from Fifty Shades of Grey at a themed ball – all in the name of charity.

Kimberley Ball, of Stourport, is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support during the Valentine’s Day black tie event at Stourport Manor Hotel on February 14.

“This is a charity that I feel close to because during Christmas in 2011 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 29,” said Kimberley.

“Naturally my family and I were devastated and I feel that it has taken me until now to be strong enough emotionally to try to achieve something like this.

“I'm one of the lucky ones to be able to tell the woeful tale but many patients are not so fortunate and their families need a strong pair of shoulders for support which Macmillan provides.”

The Fifty Shades theme coincides with the release date of the film based on the best-selling novel.

Kimberley said: “The connection to the film is the charity ball which featured in the story, especially the lifestyle and experiences.

“This includes gliding lessons, Audi R8 driving experience, Bollinger champagne, photo shoots, overnight hotel stays and spa packages – which are all prizes we hope to achieve in the raffle.”

The evening, starting at 7.30pm, features a three course meal, with champagne on arrival, while entertainment throughout the evening will come from pianist Benjamin Clarke and a DJ, who will be providing music until 1am.

About 300 tickets, costing £30, are still available to buy from Kimberley, while raffle tickets will be available for £5 for a strip of 5.
