STOURPORT CIVIC SOCIETY: On a cold evening members gathered for the annual Festive Event. Warmed by a glass of hot punch members were soon chatting and attempting to match dates to events on the quiz sheet. This was followed by a humorus play presented by the Bridgnorth Players entitled "Dinner for Two". They were rewarded by a huge round of applause at the end and a curtain call. Coffee and cakes followed and the drawing of the raffle. The results of the quiz saw Dixon receive a well deserved prize of a bottle of wine having successfully answered 22 of the 24 questions correctly. "Get well soon" sentiments were expressed to Pauline and Allan, both having recently spent time in hospital. Finally a vote of thanks was given to Annette and her team for hosting such an enjoyable evening.
At the next meeting on February 11 Ray Sturdy will give a talk on Vesta Tilly who from humble beginnings became a successful music hall and theatre entertainer.
Meetings are held at the Elizabeth Mills Centre, New Street, Stourport, starting at 7.30pm admission £1.50 members £3 non members.
Thank You.
