STOURPORT FLORAL ART: Birmingham Florist Sandra Gunnel gave a lovely evenings demonstration to club members and visitors on March 27 with all her arrangements that she titled “Magic Moments” memories of her holidays and tours combined with exhibitions and competitions.

Vibrant colours were used for a wonderful arrangement of her visit to Goa and the following designs were all of superb quality flowers and foliage and a particular one of a posy of spring flowers encircled by a framework of cordeline and bear grass earned a round of applause. She demonstrated the art of making a hand tied bouquet of roses and aspidestra leaves. Tulips, orchids roses and carnations in various lovely designs filled the stage and Chairman Joan Kinsella thanked Sandra and Avis Field gave the vote of thanks on behalf of the audience and congratulated her on such varied and lovely arrangements. Sandra said how nice it was to see the member’s entries in the competition, it was difficult to chose the winning entry.

She then called the raffle and delighted winners collected their prizes to take home.

The next meeting held at The Elizabeth Mills New Street social centre is on April 24 with Zoe Podmore and “Turn The Page” members competition is “Delights of Spring”

A coach outing to the Dower Gardens at Morville is on June 12 and a memorial demonstration for Joy Cook is at the Stourport Sports Centre Kingsway on July 31.
