Trimpley Village Hall showcasing new facilities

TRIMPLEY Village Hall will be showing off its new modern facilities after a £100,000 facelift.

An opening ceremony will take place next Saturday, when past and present committee members will present the refurbished community building at 2.30pm.

Following two years of planning, improvements have been made to the inside and outside of the hall.

The new facilities include an extended and refurbished energy-efficient hall with a new heating system, storage area and kitchen, which has been updated with more storage space.

Funding for the facelift has been obtained from several organisations including Biffaward, Welcome to Our Future and Leader, as well as the village hall’s own funds and local donations.

The hall, which has been managed by a management committee since 1947, was founded in 1927 when a wooden hut was erected by a local landowner for the local community to hold meetings and events.

The much-needed refurbishment work started in 2011 as more groups and organisations started using the hall.

The official opening will be followed by an Irish evening at 7.30pm and music from The O’Farrells Frolicks.
