Volunteers are now being recruited as Community Health & Wellbeing Buddies, a unique opportunity to make a difference in peoples lives.

The confidential service will provide help for patients who have physical, mental or emotional issues that have been identified by their doctor and have then been referred to our new service. The buddies role will be to address the needs of the patient by signposting them to other agencies and community activities that can help them with such issues as housing, debt, social care, loneliness and isolation.

As a volunteer you will need to be responsive to the evolving holistic needs of the person and committed to building a trusting relationship with them.

No previous experience is necessary but communication and basic IT skills are important. Full training and ongoing supervision will be given. Once training is completed you will shadow an experienced buddy until you feel confident to work on your own at the medical centre assigned to you. For more information and an informal chat about this exciting new role please contact Katrina Willetts at the Wyre Forest Citizens Advice Bureau 0156260194 or go to healthandwellbeing@wyreforestcab.cabnet.
