RESIDENTS in Wyre Forest are this week being invited by the NHS to have their say on the way their local NHS service is run.

It comes as part of Patient Participation Group Awareness Week where there are a number of ways people can get involved and voice their opinions to Wyre Forest’s Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The awareness week aims to promote the role and benefits of patient participation and work by building a relationship between the patients and their practice to share information to help patients receive the best quality GP care available.

Pete Emms, engagement manager for NHS Wyre Forest CCG, said: “Patients, carers and the public are often first to spot changes that can be made to care and also have great ideas about how to make care better.

“We value every bit of engagement that we receive and want to ensure that all the services that we commission are done so with patient and stakeholder feedback.

“Patient participation groups are a crucial way of hearing the voice of patients in primary care, and have much to contribute in driving up quality.”

Wyre Forest CCG also run a membership scheme which encourages people to become involved in their local health service, called Have Your Say.

It gives people the opportunity to put forward their ideas and views about what health services work for them and make recommendations for the future.

Mr Emms added: “By joining the scheme, the public will be able to help shape the way things work in the future and work with us to improve local health services.”
