A KIDDERMINSTER couple are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary today.

Mick and Gill Price tied the knot at St John-in-Bedwardine Parish Church in Worcester in 1964 and will mark 50 years of happy marriage at a get-together with friends and family.

The duo, who have two daughters and four grandchildren, met as students in London and clicked over their common interest in sport and outdoor activities.

Mr Price, 76, who used to work in the steel industry, said: “We have had a very happy marriage and we blend together really well as a couple. We are still going strong and we look forward to many more years to come.”

He added the key to their successful partnership was “tolerance and give and take”.

The sporty couple, who regularly attend activities with the Wyre Forest and District branch of the University of Third Age, are looking forward to their future together.

Mrs Price, 75, a retired physical education teacher, said: “It has been an easy milestone for us to reach because we have such a great marriage.

“We are both fit, healthy and full of beans and we are excited about spending time as a couple in the years ahead.

“We have always enjoyed participating in activities together, such as camping, caravanning and golf, and this has helped us stay friends and to not argue too much.”
