WYRE FOREST FRIENDSHIP CENTRE: The meeting started with a minutes silence in memory of two members, Margaret and Albert, who sadly passed away in January. Notice was given of a three day break in October to Yorkshire which includes an evening out at "The Good Old Days" variety show. Cost is £165 and with only 20 places available early booking is essential. The balance for the Falmouth holiday must be paid next month.
Gary Farmer then gave a talk on his trip to India to see Tigers. He took us on a journey through the busy streets of New Delhi before arriving at the Kanha National Park. Here we saw the varied flora and fauna of India but the tigers remained elusive allowing only glimpses of them in the undergrowth. Leaving the Park he travelled north where we saw the Taj Mahal and the Red Port. Then at last we saw the tigers in all there majesty. The last slide showed a tiger seemingly eyeing up his party with a look of dinner on his mind.
At next months meeting on March 17 Sandy Cale will give a talk entitled "Elegant Georgian Worcester". Meeting are held at the Lickhill Community Centre, Lickhill Road, Stourport, starting at 10am.
