RESIDENTS of Wolverley are being invited to attend a public meeting to discuss the future developments of the village’s memorial hall.
The Wolverley Memorial Project Committee has plans to regenerate the hall but needs residents and site users’ input about what they want, as well as the types of activities should be on offer.
Malcolm Hazelwood, deputy chairman of committee, said: “It’s the chance for users of the hall to have their say.
“We have exciting plans for the regeneration of the Wolverley Memorial Hall site and we would like to share them with users and hear their views.”
Mr Hazelwood said the hall was built in 1961 to commemorate those who had lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars and was only intended to last for 20 years.
“Given that 2014 is the centenary of the First World War, it seems a fitting time to commence this project,” he said.
“We now need something new, which will become a key part of our community and a centre for all to use.”
The meeting will take place at Wolverley Memorial Hall Sports and Social Club on Monday, July 7 at 7.30pm.
