PLANS for a junior rope course to be added to Wyre Forest’s tree top adventure Go Ape are due to be approved.

Wyre Forest District Council will discuss the application, which would add an additional rope course for children to the existing venue, on Tuesday.

No objections have been received from the district council’s arboricultural officer and countryside officer who have both assessed the impact of the application.

The existing ropes course has a minimum age requirement of 10 and is subject to height restrictions.

The additional course would increase the age range of children who can take part and will be aimed primarily at six to 12 year olds.

The district council has concluded the plans will “enhance the existing Go Ape centre and provide facilities for a greater age range and proportion of the public.

“The course would offer no substantial detriment to the landscape, biodiversity or historic landscape of the forest.

“The development would have no significant impact on the appearance of the site or the character of the area.”
