WYRE Forest libraries are taking part in the National Family Learning Festival on Saturday, November 1.

The Family Learning team at Worcestershire County Council and library staff at Kidderminster and Stourport libraries have organised a range of events under the festival theme Out of this World.

Parents and their children are invited to join in with interactive story-sharing and sessions of Lego challenges and tasks.

County councillor Lucy Hodgson said: “It's really great to be contributing to the Family Learning Festival programme of events.

“The work of the Libraries and Learning Service Family Learning team completely supports the Campaign for Learning's mission as it is all about working with families to help adults improve their own skills and enable them to feel more confident in supporting their children's learning.

“We hope lots of families take advantage of these sessions as they will be a really fun way for the whole family to learn together.”

The sessions, which are free and designed for parents and children aged between 4 and 12-years-old, take place at 10am until noon at Stourport Library, while Kidderminster Library’s session is from 2pm until 4pm.

Organisers said booking is necessary as places at the sessions are limited.
