WYRE Forest Historical Research Group’s next monthly meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at Kidderminster Town Hall.
The event, starting at 2pm in the Corn Exchange, features a talk by Frank Townsend who will be giving a talk entitled Compliments of the Season.
Gay Hill, publicity officer for the group, said: “As we are just about to start the build up to the festive season, Frank will be talking about the history of some of our well loved Christmas customs, especially that of sending Christmas cards.
“His talk will include pictures of Christmas cards from the Victorian period right up to some humorous cards from the present day.”
The group's talks have covered a range of historical topics including a recent discussion on diarist Emily Pepys as well as lessons on tracing First World War ancestors.
