TWO Wyre Forest service clubs have joined forces with The Pearl of Africa choir to raise money for Ugandan children.
The Rotary Club of Bewdley and Kidderminster and District Lions Club worked together to set up a performance of the African choir with the Highley Colliery Brass Band at St Anne’s Church in Bewdley.
The two acts entertained a Sunday afternoon audience at the church with traditional music from both Uganda and the UK.
As part of the concert, the Lions and the Rotary Clubs underwrote all the costs, meaning that all the proceeds of £1,155 have been able to be donated to help young people in Uganda with their education.
Colin Hill, Lions Club member, said: “The event was a most enjoyable occasion and even received a standing ovation.”
