WYRE Forest residents who want a new and exciting job in 2015 are being urged to apply to Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s Community Volunteer Programme.
The fire service is launching a recruitment campaign for the programme, which will offer residents the chance to make a difference within the community, as well as meeting new people and supporting a wide range of training activities.
Becky Valender, community safety advisor, said: “Effective safety awareness can make a real difference to people’s lives.
“We particularly work with the elderly and with vulnerable people. It’s rewarding work and a fantastic way of getting more involved in your local community.”
Volunteering with the fire service requires helpers to give up a few hours of their time each week, with successful applicants being offered a comprehensive training package, provided with uniform and reimbursed for travel expenses.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday, February 6 and interviews will take place at a later date.
