| Call outs | | 7:50am Thursday 8th May 2008 | FIREFIGHTERS from Bromsgrove were called to Sidemoor and Rockhill over the Bank Holiday weekend.Crews extinguished a small quantity of rubbish which was on fire at King George Close play area, at 6.28pm last Sunday. On Bank Holiday Monday, firefighters went out just after 10pm to extinguish a scooter that was on fire in Fox Lane. No one was injured in either incident. From Bromsgrove Advertiser |
| Rail service upgrade | | 7:48am Thursday 8th May 2008 | BROMSGROVE and Droitwich rail users could see an improved service following Network Rail's announcement of investment in the infrastructure. The investment will lead to work starting in July and August, which includes the development of Bromsgrove station, and possible plans to electrify the cross city line. Work will also begin on fitting an additional interim signal on the Hereford to Birmingham line, via Droitwich. The changes should see an improvement in reliability and allow for increased capacity. Avoncroft's Danzey Green Post Windmill is the only working windmill in Worcestershire.
