They’re a credit to the town

THE mayor of Droitwich Spa attended the passing out parade for the Droitwich Army Cadet Force.

Councillor Richard Morris used the opportunity to thank the troop for attending his recent Norbury Gala concert and carrying out a drill on stage.

“I was impressed with the youngsters passing out and I am proud that they are one of my charities this year."

The mayor said the cadet force are a terrific unit and present younger people with a great opportunity to experience adventure and learn new skills.

Droitwich ACF Detachment offers an engaging, safe and welcoming environment for young adults between the ages of 12 and 18. The Army Cadet Force is not part of the army, but fosters the same basic ethos of individual development and enjoyment through training.

Joining Droitwich troop gives the opportunity to gain qualifications, make friends and learn valuable skills whether military minded or not.

The detachment meets and parades every Monday and Wednesday evening from 7-9.30pm. Youngsters can visit whenever they wish and are under no obligation to stay.
