Car crash victim identified

POLICE have announced that a woman who died in a road traffic collision just outside Bromsgrove on Thursday, May 1, was from Redditch.

The woman was 48-year-old Heather Linley, who was director of curriculum and quality at Stourbridge College.

Lynette Cutting, principal of the college voiced a tribute to Heather.

She said: "It was with deep sadness that we heard the tragic news of the death of our colleague Heather Linley.

"Those who knew and worked with Heather could not fail to be impressed with the level of professionalism, commitment and enthusiasm she brought to any task she undertook.

"She was a lively and animated speaker who inspired the very best in others with her humour and vision.

"With her knowledge and expertise she constantly strived to ensure that we maintained the very best provision for our students."

Heather died after she lost control of her blue Volkswagen Golf on the A491 outside Bromsgrove.

Her car crossed over the central reservation and was in collision with a white Ford Mondeo travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Ford Mondeo, a 44-year-old woman from Stourbridge, was uninjured.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any relevant information, is asked to contact the North Worcestershire Road Policing Unit on 08457 444888.
