MONTHS of training paid off for a Stourbridge estate agent, who tackled the London Marathon on Sunday for the first and last time.

Tracy Elbro, aged 43, pounded the streets of the capital with one aim - to raise enough cash to make one teenager's dream come true.

The keen runner needed £400 to help Altrincham teenager, Shakira Robinson, who has Ataxic Cerebral Palsy, meet her television idols - Sid and Nancy from CBeebies.

But her sponsorship has now reached more than £1,300, which will help Promise Dreams, a Wolverhampton based charity that supports seriously and terminally ill children, fulfil the dreams of at east three more youngsters.

The Kinver resident said: "I finished in four hours, 48 minutes, which was a little bit slower than I'd hoped but there were so many people, you couldn't get any pace. The atmosphere was fantastic but I won't be doing it again."

Tracy, a partner at Midcalf Nicholls Estate Agents, Stourbridge, added: "I'm aching a lot but I'm proud of myself, it's an achievement."
