ORMISTON Forge Academy in Cradley Heath is throwing open its doors this month to prospective students and their parents.

The two open events will be held on Thursday, September 25 and Saturday, September 27.

Children due to start secondary school in September 2015 and their parents are invited to visit the school to gain a taster of life at the academy.

Kris Griffin, director of marketing, said: "The academy achieved record breaking A level results this Summer as well as a first class set of GCSE results.

"Visitors will be able to try out science experiments, view paintings, watch demonstrations in the food technology department, interact with the geography and history departments and meet our Principal Andrew Burns amongst many other things."

He added: "Also in attendance will be the The Access Project who help our student improve their grades even more and get them into a top university."

Formerly Heathfield Foundation Technology College, Ormiston Forge opened in January 2012 as an Academy. It is an academy with 1400 students aged between 11 and 18-years-old.

The doors will be open from 6pm to 8.30pm on Thursday and 9am until 12 on Saturday.
