TWELVE new homes can be built in Kingsland.

An amended planning application was approved last week – seven months after a previous pitch for the village was refused due to the effect it would have on the conservation area and because no completed section 106 monies were in place.

The applicants claimed the development was large enough to contribute to the council's five year housing supply but small enough to sit comfortably within the rural village landscape.

They claimed the plans could have been reduced to just 10 homes, which would mean no 106 monies and no affordable housing, but she said they wanted to contribute to the area and benefit the whole village.

The approval is subject to completing a S106 agreement.
