LOCAL musicians will take over a Worcester shopping centre tomorrow (Saturday).
Rise Music in Chapel Walk, CrownGate, will celebrate World Record Store Day from midday tomorrow, where a host of bands will perform.
Skinny Lister, Youth Man, Broken Oak Duet, Vault of Eagles, Andy Oliveri, Bad News, Champion and Portia will perform from midday in the shop and in the centre of CrownGate.
Rise manager, Thomas George, said he hopes the event will help put some “positivity back in to the high street”.
He added: “We did it last year and it was brilliant — it was our busiest day of the year.
“Lots of people turned out to support the bands and this year, going by the Facebook event, we’ll have double the amount of people coming.
"Coffee Dough are providing a waitressing service so people can get drinks and pastries while listening to the bands, and surrounding shops are doing discounts.
“It should be great fun — we’ll have mixtapes available and customers will also be performing inside the shop.
“We also have something special lined up happening inside the shop, but it’s a secret at the moment.”
