A WORCESTERSHIRE woman is hoping the public will get behind her plans of making her own TV show a reality.

Alison Larnder, who grew up in Ombersley, has spent the last four years writing, producing and starring in a series called Kidz Time TV — an adult comedy drama about the people who work behind the scenes on a children's television show.

Miss Larnder, aged 33, said the idea was inspired by a close friend.

"A friend of mine, Tom Whitecross, used to write for CBBC, and he showed me a mock clip of him presenting a children's TV show. This made me think of how these shows can be very politically correct, but often the people working on them are not. I used to love watching live shows as a kid, so for me it was in part nostalgic, but it was also about capturing all the things that can go wrong on a live children's show, and all of the innuendos that only the adults will get."

The pilot episode has been viewed more than 80,000 times online, and has even been given the thumbs up on Twitter by TV presenter, Andi Peters, known for his work on The Broom Cupboard and Live and Kicking.

"I'm very proud of it. It's very silly, very funny, definitely not for children, but also has a romantic element to it," said Miss Larnder, who studied at Worcester Sixth Form College before going on to the Royal Academy of Music.

"It's been a fantastic experience. I didn't know a thing about production before this, but I just knew I had to make this idea happen. I managed to get a graduate from the National Film Academy to direct the pilot, and had a lot of help from the Academy.

"The show actually features a number of people who have appeared in film and television already, such as Nadine Lewington, known for her work in Holby City and Misfits.

"Now I just need it to get the attention of someone who wants to help me make the full series. It's so hard getting the attention of the people who can make these things happen, but I hope someone can see its potential. At the end of the day, the pilot episode has had some fantastic reviews from the public, and they are the ones I want to impress as ultimately they will be watching the show."
