WASHING and going has never been easier for Evesham woman Emma Diston after undergoing a headshave for charity.

Mrs Diston, 38, aimed to raise £500 for Relay for Life, which supports Cancer Research UK, and is taking part in a relay at De Montfort School on July 27.

But she wanted to do more and decided to go through with a headshave so she could raise more sponsorship and also donate her shorn locks to the Little Princess Trust charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

Soon after her announcement she saw her £500 target come and go and passed the £1,000 mark after adding on the additional £163.30 she raised on the day of her headshave at Evesham's Tesco store. Just a few days later and that total had reached £1,500.

Mrs Diston, who works for Ladbrokes, in Evesham, said she was "so pleased" wants to thank everyone who has sponsored her so far and thanks Dionne Gardner of Unity Salon, Evesham, for agreeing to carry out the hair cut and to Tesco for allowing her to collect inside the store.
