OFFICERS are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a man was robbed on Station Approach, in Kidderminster, at the start of January.

The incident took place at around 4.30pm on Sunday, January 3, after the victim, a man in his 60s, used a cash point in Station Approach.

As he walked back in the direction of the King and Castle pub, he was approached by a man who put his forearm up to his face and took his wallet before running off in the Lea Street direction.

The victim was not injured in the incident and the wallet was recovered - although some cash was taken.

A man in his 20s from Kidderminster has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been bailed until March 1.

Detective Constable Natalie Vaux said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

"We are particularly keen to speak to a woman who drove down Lea Street and directed the attention of another witness to the victim.

"We are not sure if she is local to the area, or was visiting from further afield."

Anyone who witnessed the robbery is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 398S of January 3.
