A MAN who had a fight with his partner in front of Hereford shoppers has been ordered to pay £195 by magistrates.

Krystian Ropel, 28, of Primrose Close, Redhill, Hereford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in High Town on January 20.

Mark Soper, prosecuting at Hereford Magistrates Court, that police received reports at 3pm that Ropel and a lady were arguing and had been drinking.

"Basically the argument was extremely heated with a small exchange of blows," said Mr Soper.

"Members of the public were put at risk as it was in a public place outside Marks & Spencer. The incident was recorded on CCTV and neither wished to make a complaint against the other."

Marilena Divitantonio, defending, said that Ropel was an alcoholic.

She said: "Both parties had been drinking and had a heated argument which included a small physical assault followed by pushing and shoving each other before they walked away."

Magistrates last Thursday ordered him to pay a £40 fine, £20 victim surcharge and £135 costs.
